Reconstruction of the subway is based on a complex outlook on chosen territory and its nearest surroundings. The currently cheerless closest space – indistinct and even inhuman – drove us, when analysed, to the opinion that we must expand the design for solving a wider area.
The intention was to create a public area that will have a new drive and attractiveness. In the south part, the subway opens into newly created square, which gradually ascends and naturally continues in the existing functions and relations. People get out of the subway into the new open public area, which offers many opportunities and increases the quality of the whole territory. Communication on the boundary is ensured by slight ramps and slopes. They make pleasant atmosphere of the square, which provides the current cheerless state with new logic and order but it also makes the measure more human. Another benefit of the design is creation of new green areas on the territory of the city. These areas are important for creating a more pleasant measure, which should be supported by newly established market – human commotion (we are thinking of a farm market or for example an art market).
