Khanbogd settlement lies in desert area in south Mongolia. Due to launching mining and quarrying in this region, present village made up from few houses and yurt camp can grow and form city for 20 thousand residents.
The plot is situated on the edge of rocky massif. Surrounding area suffers from lack of water, interrupted from time to time by flood in southeast part of village. Local landscape is mildly undulated.
